Witch Fighting Game

Lead Designer - Engine Programmer

A 2.5D fighter designed to be accessible by fighting game veterans and newcomers alike.
Developed as a part of a senior studio project, Witch Fighting Game puts players in a small New England town with a legacy of witches sent as sacrifices to appease the dark spirits of its founding persecutors who continue to linger within. Players take control of the spirits of these witches and persecutors from various eras in the town's history to fight against the curse laid upon the land, battling to end the cycle of death for good.

Tasks:
- Designed various pipelines for cross-discipline workflows, including character design / move set design / animation / character implementation.
- Designed major game systems, including combat functionality, game rules, game-feel, and developed a generic template for characters move sets to make characters more accessible to new players. 
- Oversaw character design pipeline, and designed character move sets.
- Programmed major engine systems, such as character movement, from scratch, and designed tools to make implementation of characters simple for non-programming members of the team.

Project Samurai

Designer - Programmer

Samurai-slashing cat-dashing arcade action!
Developed as a solo-project, Project Samurai is a fast-paced action arcade title in which players only have access to two options: slash, and dash! Players move around the screen by countering enemy attacks, and chaining dashes together on other enemies until you are the last combatant standing.

Engine: MonoGame

Tasks:
- Concepted, designed, and implemented game systems, with a particular focus on designing around the player's countering and dashing movement.
- Programmed all game systems using C# from scratch,  including a tile-based text I/O level implementation system for rapid prototyping, and character interaction / movement design.
- Designed 5 levels and 2 enemy types to showcase the unique movement mechanic for the prototype version. 

Yards of the Nekomancers

Lead Game Designer - Producer

Raise your army of the dead to become the most petty Nekomancer in the cemetery! 
Pitched and developed as a part of a tabletop game design class, Yards of the Nekomancers is part tile-based strategy game, part card game, and all petty suburban-cemetery mayhem. You play as a Nekomancer who vies to have the most enviable yard in the cemetery--the only problem being, everyone else has the same idea! Through property destruction, desecration of corpses, and general distain for your fellow cat, you, too, can achieve the Nekomancer Dream.

Tasks:
- Concepted and developed the core vision for the game.
- Designed and tested the game's rules and mechanics.
- Organized virtual playtest sessions, including devising questions for players to answer post-playtest and analysis of data post-playtest.
- Responsible for documenting major game elements into the game's design document, including writing the rules sheet and other supporting documents.
- Managed timelines for the game, ensuring that design, art, and production goals were met in order to meet a tight deadline.

Aquxe

Designer - Programmer

Creating beautiful aquascapes since '24.
Developed as a part of a junior studio project, Aquxe is an aquascaping simulation game which allows players to design their own underwater ecosystems. Players can place customizable plants, rocks, or other organic material, sculpt the substrate at the bottom of their tank, and even add fish to create their perfect zen ecosystem.

Engine: Unreal Engine 5

Tasks:
- Designed and implemented a terrain-sculpting system using only Blueprints.
- Re-designed the camera system to better fit the intended "smooth" feeling of the game. 
- Built out in-game menus, including handling UI design and interaction design. 

White Snake Projects

White Rave Black Dove - Memoires

2D Animation Lead (Memoires),
3D Animator (White Raven, Black Dove)

Black Raven, White Dove is an upcoming stage opera  described as "an Opera of Extinction and Evolution" that leverages both physical stagecraft and digital projections as scenic design elements. 
Memoires is an upcoming series of music videos detailing the life experiences of White Snake Projects founder and director, Cerise Jacobs.

2D Animation Tasks
​- Organized weekly tasks across animators and oversaw production of 7 individual 2D animated music videos.
- Reviewed and critiqued work to ensure that the style and vision of music videos matched the director's vision.
3D Animation Tasks
- Concepted, storyboarded, and directed animated projection backgrounds for Act I: Scene 2.
- Modified the meshes of and retextured prepurchased bird models to match pre-established artistic vision.
